   Brethren are relieved to know that our dear W. Bro Dr. K.S. Johar is on the way to recovery. May the blessings of GAOTU everyly shine on us. It was a week ago on Feb. 14th that W. Bro. suffered a Heart attack while doing the rounds of  ICU of his hospital. He had himself shifted to Fortis hospital and underwent a successful cardiac surgery. He was discharged from the hospital on 24th Feb. "I am doing well and progressing nice. Once again to all the colleagues, friends and relatives , I extend my gratitude to you all. God Bless you.    A distinguished brother from Lodge Salarden , (No.3971, Province of Yorkshire, West Riding, U.K.)  honored us with a memorable visit accompanied by his loving wife. Bro. Gurbax and Bro. Balbir took care of W. Bro. Milnes during his 2 nights stay in Chandigarh.   They were taken for visits to the Rock Garden and Sukhna Lake. W. Bro. Milnes was particularly delighted to note the winding stairs  during a visit to the lodge premises. The evening was winded up with an informal and lively dinner hosted by Bro. Gurbax.

   The Regional Grand Lodge of Southern India is holding its Annual Investiture Meet at Visakhapatnam, Andhra University Convocation Hall   on the 1st and 2nd March 2008. Brethren wishing to attend may get themselves  registered by downloading the form here http://www.rglmeet2008.org/

  In a well attended ceremony Bro. Matharoo was installed as the new Master of the Lodge. As usual the change of guard is done this time of the year where we see new officers installed. W.Bro. K.S. Johar the out-going Master pleaded for more cohesion among the brotherhood and his tenure will surely be remembered for long.

"Recently during the month of September I had the privilege and great honour to attend the meeting of The United Grand Lodge of Queensland. It was a pleasure in meeting many senior Freemasons. I am extremely thankful to Mr Milford Ayre, who was kind enough in picking me from Gold Coast. I attach photograph taken on this occasion with Mr Graeme Albert Ewin and Mr Miford Eyre the gread Chaplin of the lodge. I also had the privilege to attend the meeting and see the working of Gold Coast Day Light lodge No 519 on 4th September." 

  In a unanimous vote Brother Matharoo has been elected as the forthcoming master of the lodge. He will be installed in the eastern chair in the month of October. Brother Matharoo is known for his dedication to the craft and the lodge will surely be taken to new heights by his leadership.

 Our lodge is saddened by the untimely demise of  dear brother Pawan Aggarwal on June 4, 07. Bro. Pawan joined our lodge in Nov. 2006 as an entered apprentice and is remembered for his jolly nature. He suffered a hip fracture and was bed-ridden for a while before his demise. A moment of silence will be observed in  our next regular meeting in remembrance of our dear brother.

A prayer ceremony will be held in the Sector 27 mandir on July 15, 07. Brethren's requested to attend.

In the true spirit of freemasonry various lodges in Chandigarh celebrated 24rth June as the Universal Brotherhood Day. Brethren of Lodge Mount Shivalik thru a noble act donated medicines and spent time with  the inmates of  "Old Age Home" in Sector 15. The resident doctor was pleased to accept the same which he says will go a long way in taking care of the common ailments of the inmates.

The Worship Master of Lodge No 283, Mount Shivalik of Chandigarh Col K S Johar (retired) was accompanied by W.B. Rehsi, W.B. Rampal, W.B. Sahni, W.B. John, Bro. Indoria and Bro. Balbir.

Another example of inter-lodge camaraderie was evident from the visit of  W. Bro. Gurramnik Saund, PPGADC (West Kent, UK). Bro. Saund who many years ago spent time in this city, Chandigarh, was appreciative of the changes it undergone. It was thru this web-site that Bro. Saund came to know of the existence of our lodge.  On behalf of our lodge,  W. Bro. KD Aggarwal and Bro. Balbir Dhamrait presented our dear brother with a memento to which he expressed deep gratitude and thanks for the same. He promised to take time in the near future to visit us again.

A delightful surprise, thru this website we had the opportunity to meet a distinguished personality from the United Kingdom, Bro. Mukesh Chadha, Master Elect with Rose of England Lodge No 6456. The dedication of Bro. Chadha to freemasonry is evident in finding time from his busy schedule to visit lodges wherever he goes around the world. This sets an example worth emulating.
 

R.W.Bro. S. Krishnan installed as RGM in the regional festival held on Feb. 10, 07 at New Delhi.

Brethren will be pleased to note that our M.W.THE GRAND MASTER will visit Lodge Charity, Ambala on Jan 21, 2007. It is indeed a great honor for us to welcome him in our midst. Neighboring lodges are extended a welcome to join Lodge Charity of Ambala in this auspicious visit.

The Annual Installation meeting of  The Regional Grand Lodge of Northern India will be held at New Delhi on 10.2.2007. Brethren are requested to attend and join the event. Please contact the secretary for attending charges.

Brethern may please note that our Dear Brother has been discharged from Fortis and on the way to recovery. You are requested to visit him at residence and offer assistance wherever required.

Our dear brother Pawan Aggarwal who recently joined the fold last month injured his hip and will be bedridden for at least 3 months as ordered by doctors.

One of our dear brother, Bro. A.K. Mehan has suffered a stroke and has been admitted in the I.C.U. ward of Fortis Hospital, Mohali. Brethren are requested to visit him and offer any assistance required.

Brethren it is a sad loss for this lodge as we will be missing our dear brother B.S. Anand who expired on Oct. 30,06. Brother Anand will  always be remembered for his camaraderie and pleasing nature. We are consoled in the belief that our brother has finally joined the T.G.A.O.U. A Moment of silence was observed in the regular meeting held in our lodge on Nov. 11, 06 as a mark of respect to our dear brother. Brethren are also requested to visit his  family and offer condolences on behalf of our lodge.

M.W.BRO. Chief Justice Devinder Gupta, O.S.M. is installed as Grand Master of the Grand Lodge of India in a well attended ceremony at Ashoka Hotel in New Delhi. Some of the eminent dignitaries honoured us by their distinguished presence at our Grand Festival at New Delhi on 28th October 2006 are M.W.Bro Lindsay Descombes, Most Worshipful the Grand Master of The Grand Lodge of Mauritius, R.W.Bro Goordeo Sodhou, The Grand Secretary of The Grand Lodge of Mauritius, R.W.Bro Bomi S.Mehta,(Rt.Wor.District Grand Master ,The District Grand Lodge of India,Scottish Constitution) representing the Most Worshipful Grand Master Mason of The Grand Lodge of Scotland,  R.W.Bro Alan Englefield,Grand Chancellor Designate of The United Grand Lodge of England.

Bro. Dr. K. S. Johar was installed as the Master of Lodge Mount Shivalik along with the newly elect officers on Saturday, Oct. 14, 06. It was presided graciously by the Installing Officer. W. Bro. V.K. Rampal and by the Director of Ceremonies, W. Bro. Dr. Raj Kumar Sharma. Bro. Johar was appreciative of the successful tenure in office of the outgoing Master, Bro. Kapil Dev Aggarwal. Bro. Kapil Dev Aggarwal in his capacity as Immediate Past Master offers full assistance to the newly  elect master and his officers  in discharge of their duties.

The half yearly meetings of the Regional Grand Lodge of Northern India, is scheduled to be held on Saturday, the 26th & 27th August, 2006, at Allahabad. Brethren are requested to attend in large numbers.

R.W. Bro. Justice Devinder Gupta was presented with the 25 Year Long term Service Jewel and was conferred the Prestigious Grand Masters Order of Service to Masonry in a Joint Meeting of the Craft Lodges of Shimla of 14th April, 2006.
